Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the QuickBOQ Estimator and its free CPWD tools.
Q1.What is QuickBOQ, and what does the Estimator do?
QuickBOQ is a construction estimation platform built around the BOQ Estimator, a workspace where you add CPWD DSR or departmental items, enter quantities, and get a tender-ready Bill of Quantities with rate analysis and PDF/Excel exports, all in one place instead of a hand-built spreadsheet.
Q2.Is QuickBOQ based on CPWD DSR 2023 & Electrical 2025?
Yes. QuickBOQ incorporates the latest CPWD Civil DSR 2023 and CPWD Electrical DSR 2025 (Parts 1, 2 & 3), linking items directly to CPWD Specifications 2019 clauses, rate analysis breakdowns, and ingredient coefficients.
Q3.Do I need an account to use the free tools?
The CPWD DSR Rate Search and the site calculators (Bar Bending Schedule, Steel Weight, Concrete Mix, Construction Cost, Brickwork) are open to everyone. Material Coefficients, DAR Analysis, CPWD Specs & Clause AI, and the SOR Library ask you to sign in with the same free account you use for the Estimator.
Q4.Can I export my BOQ and Rate Analysis to Excel and PDF?
Yes. Every estimate built in the workspace exports as a formatted Excel workbook and PDF (Abstract of Cost, Measurement Sheet, and Rate Analysis) ready for checking, sharing or tender submission.
Q5.How does Rate Analysis work for Non-Scheduled (NS) items?
For work outside the DSR book, build a market rate analysis for the item once and reuse it across future projects. For DSR items, attach the Part-B rate analysis sheet showing the material, labour and machinery basis behind the rate.
Q6.Can I keep multiple estimates organised by project?
Yes. Estimates are saved under a project, so you can hold several versions of a BOQ for the same job, copy an existing estimate (with or without quantities) into a new project, and come back to continue editing at any time.
Ready to build your next estimate?
Create your BOQ in QuickBOQ instead of starting from a blank spreadsheet.
